This campaign addressed period product waste and period poverty. Launched in 2021, the campaign was run by Swale Borough Council’s Fuel and Water Home Adviser and the Big Local Eastern Sheppey project.
Hey Girls UK donated one product to the project for each item sold. Eligible residents requested the products they need. The scheme impacted the lives of many. Support from BLUEPRINT helped to expand the project’s reach beyond Sheppey and across Swale. The campaign then had plans to be extended into areas such as Medway.
Future plans for the campaign include:
- Additional drop-off and collection points
- Logistical and practical support to reduce barriers
