PECT completed a series of resident surveys and focus groups to better understand attitudes towards waste and recycling. The results highlighted barriers such as a lack of understanding and access to information.
A pilot scheme was then developed to overcome some of these barriers. The team chose one ward to work with within Peterborough.
PECT used a communications campaign and carried out door-knocking on selected streets. Posters, leaflets and free recycling resources were given to those who completed a survey on their recycling habits.
The programme included a variety of measures and work with the local community. It is also supported by local BLUEPRINT Ambassadors.
