Today, existing methanisation units already partly process food waste, but the mixture of waste used does not produce the best yields for creating biogas, and the actual waste stocks are much larger than those used today.

The purpose of this method is to allocate methanisation centres which specialise in the treatment of food waste, as this would increase the processing percentage of this method while allowing better management of its quantity.
