Néolithe

Solution: Waste treatment system for non-dangerous non-inert waste. Owner: Néolithe. Circular Strategy: Recycle.

Description

Néolithe has developed a process where difficult to recycle household waste, construction waste and industrial waste is ground to a fine powder and is treated by fossilization.

The new fossilized product can be used as construction aggregate, which can be used for road construction and potential concrete use. This prevents the extraction of virgin raw material and creates another use for material that would otherwise be incinerated or landfilled.

Location

Chalonnes-sur-Loire, France.

Scale

Over 60 employees.

Potential circular economy impact

This approach reduces landfilling and prevents the extraction of raw materials for construction. The technology is also mobile, saving energy, costs, and CO2 emissions.

What’s involved?

People: Construction material specialists; mechanical and industrial engineers.

Resources: A warehouse with large storage for wastes and produced aggregates; transport vehicles for collection and provisioning.

Technology: Conveying machines for waste and produced aggregates; a shredding machine; a chemical reactor for binding the residues; a drying machine; quality control testing machines.

Implementation: Licensing the technology; investment and setup of a process site; contract with waste providers and off takers; arrangement of logistics.
