Versoo

Solution: Cardboard cup recycling service. Owner: Versoo. Circular Strategy: Recycling.

Description

The recycling service includes Versoo distributing cardboard bins for cardboard cup disposal to companies across France. Once full, Versoo will collect these bins and take them to a nearby recycling facility to be processed. Versoo makes collection efficient by taking into consideration already existing routes to these facilities, which lowers their CO2 impact. The recycling process extracts the paper fibres from the cardboard cups to create moulded fibre products and packaging solutions, which are biodegradable, recyclable and renewable.

Location

Boulevard de la Chanterie, Saint-Sylvain-d'Anjou, France.

Scale

Small company, under 10 employees.

Potential circular economy impact

Only 2% of cardboard cups are currently recycled in France as they are composed of a mix of plastic and cardboard making them difficult to recycle. This solution tackles this problem by offering a recycling collection and processing service.
In addition to that, the cups are transformed into other packaging material that can then be used.
