Description

The main aim of the organisation is to reduce surplus food from going into the bin. A fridge is set up and follows strict rules to ensure that the food is of the highest quality from registered food businesses. The fridge is not policed, and anyone can have access to it.

Location

113 Queens Road, Brighton, UK.

Scale

The non-profit organisation works with a wide range of partners including community organisations, statutory agencies, local businesses, and individual residents. Over 10 staff deliver a range of projects.

Potential circular economy impact

Through reducing food waste, a loop is created. Any surplus food that would otherwise be disposed is now brought together to be consumed by people who need it. This project has a socio-economic side as it brings a community together and raises awareness to help others in need, as well as helping the environment simultaneously.
